The Education Department at the Latino Academy offers ESL, GED/HSED, and Computer Literacy programs designed to promote academic success, create career opportunities, and establish important milestones for future careers. Our department emphasizes confidence-building, overcoming cultural barriers, and fostering community support to help students stay on track and feel a strong sense of belonging.

Primary Goals for the Department of Education

Our Educational Programs

ESL (English as a Second Language):

Provides foundational and career-specific English skills for learners of all levels and cultural backgrounds — supporting students in building confidence, integrating into the community, and advancing their personal and career goals.

GED/HSED (High School Equivalency Diploma):

Offers multiple pathways to earn a high school equivalency diploma — through testing or coursework in partnership with Madison College — promoting independence and creating future opportunities. Open to individuals aged 18 and older.

Digital Literacy:

Builds essential digital and AI literacy skills for learners at all levels, from beginner to advanced — with a focus on practical software applications to support career advancement.
